Hendersonville sits about 22 miles south of Asheville, roughly 35 minutes down I 26, and is the apple country seat of Henderson County.

Not one of these carries a Hendersonville town address, which is worth knowing before you book by drive time.
Lakewood RV Resort: Flat Rock, at 15 Timmie Lane, despite the Hendersonville mailing address. Full hookups on 30 and 50 amp service. It is an adults only resort, and the rig must be at least 20 feet long and no more than ten years old, so check both before you book.
Park Place RV Park: Flat Rock, at 501 South Allen Road. Each pitch carries 30 amp electric with water and sewer. Advertised pitch lengths run to 65 feet, though visitors have reported shorter, so confirm the pitch before bringing anything long.
Rutledge Lake RV Resort: Fletcher, at 170 Rutledge Road, about fifteen minutes north. Full hookups on 20, 30 and 50 amp service, described as big rig friendly, and open to families. The resort asks that the rig be under ten years old.
North Mills River Recreation Area: In the Pisgah National Forest, west toward Mills River. Standard, electric and full hookup pitches are all offered. Full service runs from 20 March to 15 November and the winter months are limited service.
Confirm current availability, rules and requirements directly with each park.

Hendersonville has the most complete small town main street in the region, and it came through the 2024 storm far better than the river valleys north of it. Apple harvest runs from late August into October, and the Apple Festival takes over downtown across Labor Day weekend, which is also when leaf season traffic starts to build on I 26.

Class C motorhomes are the common pick for these mountain roads, roomy enough for a family and short enough for the lanes off the parkway. Class B motorhomes park anywhere in town and handle a narrow Flat Rock road best. Class A motorhomes reward a longer stay settled in one place. The large bunkhouse travel trailer gives children their own berths and tows behind a suitable truck. Delivery across Western North Carolina with setup handled for you is available if you would rather not drive it yourself. Availability depends on the individual RV and your travel dates, and pricing varies by RV class, season and rental length. View available RVs or Contact the Asheville Camper Rentals team.
