Candler sits about 11 miles west of Asheville on the Smoky Park Highway, and is the RV camping gateway on this side of the city.

The first two carry Candler addresses. The others sit over in Asheville and are labelled that way.
Asheville West KOA Holiday: 309 Wiggins Road in Candler, the best known pitch on this side of the city. Confirmed open and taking bookings for RV sites, tent sites and cabins, though the hookup specification is not itemised online, so ask what your pitch carries when you reserve.
Hominy Valley RV Park: 1550 Highway 151 in Candler, along Hominy Creek. Its own site confirms the park and the address, but does not publish hookup types or a maximum rig length, so telephone before you count on either.
Lake Powhatan Recreation Area: In the Pisgah National Forest just east of Candler on Asheville's edge, the nearest public campground. Standard pitches at 37 dollars, electric at 46 and full hookups at 52. Booking runs through Recreation gov.
Asheville Bear Creek RV Park: Asheville, at 81 South Bear Creek Road, about fifteen minutes east. Full hookups on 30 and 50 amp service with pull throughs at 25 by 60 feet, no age restriction and year round opening.
Confirm current availability, rules and requirements directly with each park.

Candler is unincorporated country west of Asheville along the Smoky Park Highway, and it functions as a place to stay rather than a place to sightsee. There is one substantial county sports park and a large state game land, and then the good stuff is a short drive east into Asheville or south onto the Parkway. The list below is honest about that.

Candler is the one town in this batch where you can pick the unit first and the pitch second, because there is genuine choice here. A Class C motorhome handles the Smoky Park Highway and both town campgrounds. A Class B motorhome is easiest if the days will be spent in Asheville. A Class A motorhome suits a fortnight parked at the KOA. The large bunkhouse travel trailer offers a family its own sleeping space, brought in behind a suitable truck. Delivery with setup handled for you is available here too. Availability depends on the individual RV and your travel dates, and pricing varies by RV class, season and rental length.
