Where to park an RV near Arden

Two campgrounds carry Arden addresses but neither could be confirmed as currently open, so this list stays with parks that could be.

None of these is in Arden. Each is named with the town it genuinely occupies, all of them within about twenty minutes.

Asheville Bear Creek RV Park: Asheville, at 81 South Bear Creek Road. Full hookups on 30 and 50 amp service with pull throughs at 25 by 60 feet and back ins at 25 by 50. No age restriction, open year round, and no arrivals after ten at night even with a booking.

Lake Powhatan Recreation Area: In the Pisgah National Forest west of Asheville, the closest public campground to Arden. Standard pitches at 37 dollars, electric at 46 and full hookups at 52. Booking runs through Recreation gov.

Rutledge Lake RV Resort: Fletcher, straight down US 25 and about fifteen minutes on. Full hookups on 20, 30 and 50 amp service, big rig friendly and open to families. It asks that the rig be under ten years old.

Asheville West KOA Holiday: Candler, on the far side of Asheville at 309 Wiggins Road. Confirmed open and taking bookings, though the hookup specification is not itemised online, so ask what your pitch carries when you reserve.

Confirm current availability, rules and requirements directly with each park.

Best things to see and do in Arden

Arden is a corridor rather than a destination, which is exactly why people base here. Lake Julian is its own genuine draw, and everything else worth a morning sits within fifteen minutes on the same road. Four of the five below are outside Arden proper and are labelled that way, because the boundary here confuses even local listings.

Lake Julian Park - the county lake park with boats and a dog park
The North Carolina Arboretum - gardens and trails, over in Asheville
Biltmore Park Town Square - shops and dining, in south Asheville
Lake Powhatan - forest lake and trails, on Asheville's western edge
Blue Ridge Parkway - the NC 191 access point, a short drive west

Picking an RV for an Arden base

Arden works as a base because the roads are wide and the pitches are close, so unit size matters less here than almost anywhere in this batch. A Class C motorhome covers a family week comfortably. A Class B motorhome makes the run into downtown Asheville and back painless, which is the main reason people stay south of the city. A Class A motorhome suits a long settled stay. The large bunkhouse travel trailer gives the children a room of their own. Delivery is available across the area if you would rather not drive. Availability depends on the individual RV and your travel dates, and pricing varies by RV class, season and rental length. View available RVs or Contact the Asheville Camper Rentals team.
